Abstract Industrial hemp ( Cannabis sativa L.) production is expanding in the United States, generating sustained interest this multipurpose crop, though optimal agronomic conditions (e.g., row spacing, planting density, and nutrient management) for maximizing fiber yield remain unclear many regions. Key factors like spacing not only affect resource utilization but also play a crucial role weed suppression, especially regenerative organic systems. This research at Rodale Institute, Kutztown, PA, examined effects of (19 cm narrow vs. 38 wide) fertilization treatments (control, blood meal containing 12% N 112 kg ha −1 224 , compost 60 t ) on chemical composition industrial seed (cultivar: Canda) over two growing seasons (2019 2020). The increased plant stalk boosting bast yield, while wider promoted biomass due to reduced crop competition. Higher temperatures late season 2020 led 3.5 times increase improved grain protein content. Principal component analysis indicated that influenced availability heavy metal uptake more strongly than or treatments. Blood had limited effects, likely insufficient application rates, showed promise minimizing compared compost. Optimal performance depends interaction between climatic practices. Selecting appropriate sources essential enhancing reducing input costs environmental impact.

This study evaluates the impact of dietary supplementation with hemp-based polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) on membrane lipid profiles and reproductive performance Martina Franca jacks. Over a 90-day period, twelve donkeys were divided into treatment group receiving hemp oil control standard diet. Semen blood samples collected analyzed at multiple time points for composition parameters. Results revealed that sperm motility improved significantly, increasing from 92.61% in to 96.63% by Day 60 ( p = 0.05). Normal morphology also showed significant enhancement, rising 96.58% 98.85% 0.04). Conversely, gel-free semen volume decreased significantly group, 64.17 mL 28.20 < 0.0001). Lipidomic analyses indicated an increased proportion omega-3 PUFAs, such as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA; 0.08% 0.20% 60, 0.0001), membranes, alongside reduction peroxidation index (264.11 86.53 These changes suggest fluidity oxidative stability. findings underscore potential supplement enhance outcomes donkeys, broader implications livestock management.
