Pharmacological chemicals found in wastewater have drawn a lot of interest because the negative consequences they on surroundings and human health. Conventional treatment techniques frequently trouble eliminating these lingering pollutants. Because their distinct physical features, MXenes MXene-based nanomaterials become attractive options for elimination medicinal compounds last few years. This review article starts out by outlining rising worry over effects pharmaceutical waste environment general population lakes rivers. Following is thorough analysis substances, with an emphasis synthesis techniques, structural surface attributes. Further, various ways which materials might be modified to improve capacity both adsorption degradation were also investigated details. wide range uses water treatment, relationships different contaminants are explained. Additionally, this study emphasizes critical variables like, pH, temperature, availability co-existing ions that affect effectiveness compounds. Finally, current limitations latest advancements MXene functionalization modification efficacy explored along future perspectives.

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have attained significant usage as adsorbents for antiviral medicines in contemporary times. This study focused on synthesizing a UiO-67 metal–organic framework using the hydrothermal method. The synthesized was then characterized Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric analyses (TGA), and zeta potential measurements. employed purpose of assessing efficiency various adsorption factors removal from aqueous solutions, including drugs such ritonavir (RTV) lopinavir (LPV), which were extensively used treatment coronavirus (COVID-19) during pandemic. variables examined quantity adsorbent used, different pH solution, temperature, contact duration. experimental findings indicate that highest level RTV elimination 91.2% capacity (qe,exp) 9.7 mg/g LPV this 85.9%, 8.9 mg/g, 50 mg at 8, temperature 298 K, 120 min. impact duration kinetics by employing pseudo-first-order pseudo-second-order kinetic models. results showed good match with model value R2 0.99 qe,calc LPV, is qe,exp. Also, based diffusion studies, confirmed to be catalytic nature surface MOFs. A thermodynamic analysis conducted, whereby calculations Gibbs free energy change (∆G), enthalpy (∆H), entropy (∆S) performed. positive ∆H values confirm endothermic UiO-67. ΔG exhibited negativity across all temperatures, suggesting spontaneous process an solution. shown highly effective extracting real environmental samples.

A study was conducted on 31 surface sediments located in different sectors of the Egyptian Mediterranean coast. The were analyzed for their pollution levels organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). collected from various depths harbors, coastal lakes, bays, lagoons, covering southeastern Nile Delta region. aimed at determining distribution, origin, potential ecological impact OCP PCB pollutants. researchers used SRM method GC-MS/MS to measure concentration 18 PCBs 16 OCPs residues. found that total samples ranged 3.091 20.512 ng/g, with a mean 8.749 ± 3.677 ng/g. residues 2.926 20.77 5.68 3.282 DDTs exceeded effect range low (ERL) (1.00) threshold level (TEL) (1.19) several stations, but it still below median (ERM) (7.00) probable (PEL) (4.77). This indicates risk. principal component analysis (PCA) also determine sources all pollutants sediment. PCA showed significant correlations between concentrations Gama-HCH Beta-HCH (0.741), suggesting similar sources. PRACTITIONER POINTS: sediment Mediterranean. concentration, existence, causes investigated. risk ecotoxicological calculation investigated detail. Cluster analysis, PCA, correlation coefficient
