In Canada, high school sport is a popular activity used to foster the physical and psychosocial development of student-athletes. Despite popularity sport, social justice inequities (e.g., racism, ableism) continue shape student-athletes' experiences. Given that mission School Sport Canada (i.e., national governing body sport) facilitate "total student athletes through interscholastic sport", there need study way coaches think about act for justice. Thus, purpose was profile activism allyship Canadian coaches. Semi-structured interviews were conducted virtually via Zoom) with 28 Interview data subjected reflexive thematic analysis, which led two coach profiles based on continua model life skills teaching (Camiré, Citation2023). The coaching – normative approach general disinterest in justice) transformative proactive developed critical consciousness) are contrasted across four overarching themes (a) I'm (Not) Confident, I (Don't) Understand; (b) (Un)intentionally (Re)acting; (c) You See Excuses, Obstacles be Toppled; (d) (Dis)engaged (Non)autonomous Education. Findings have practical implications centering education, developing praxis related allyship, instigating systemic policy changes can make system safer, more equitable, inclusive all participants.

Scholars and practitioners have attended to shown support for the promotion of a culturally sensitive approach within applied sport psychology. Yet, cultural competence knowledge-behavior gap among psychology (SPPs) remains prevalent along with lack practical guidance on how SPPs can engage in praxis. In order ensure that are helping all clients (e.g., athletes) thrive—not merely cope forms social identity oppression racism) other sources harm pervade sport—there is need empirical research explores current fully account identity, privilege/power their work. This qualitative study aimed help close this by offering insights from serve as direction strengthen adopted praxis agenda. Semi-structured interviews were conducted 27 SSPs working United States who identified making efforts practice. Reflexive thematic analysis was carried out at semantic level. Results highlight four key themes reflect approach: (a) acknowledging self, (b) learning about client whole person context, (c) shifting power collaboration, (d) taking individual-level and/or organizational-level action. This consensus statement is the product of Third International Society Sport Psychology Think Tank on Mental Health. The purposes were (1) to engage renowned international expert researchers and practitioners in a discussion about role high-performance sport environments nourishing or malnourishing mental health athletes, coaches staff; (2) develop recommendations for organisations, researchers, more fully recognise environment their work.
