Self-perception in early childhood and self-esteem adulthood are related to a variety of aspects psychological wellbeing. The goal the present study was examine genetic familial influences on self-perception separate samples children (153 twin pairs 5-year-olds) adults (753 between ages 25-75 years). Genetic common factor modeling showed that three facets (physical competence, peer acceptance, maternal acceptance) loaded onto single heritable children. Multilevel no effects self or co-twin sex self-perception, but authoritative parenting style negatively boys. Similarly, Study 2, with adult sample, five items self-esteem. Remembered affection, paternal discipline were positively adults; affection especially significant for women. reversal direction suggests parents may play different roles shaping how think themselves. These results suggest both influenced by environmental factors is an important adults.

Parenting is crucial to a child's growth and development since so much of what they learn in their formative years hinges on the strength relationships with parents. The purpose study was determine effects authoritative parenting styles social emotional pre-primary learners. adopted Baumrind's theory used descriptive survey research design. target population 6,848 learners, 264 ECD teachers, 6,526 parents Lurambi Sub-County-Kenya. Simple random purposive sampling techniques helped obtain sample size 400 26 teachers 20 from 19 pre-schools. interview schedule, questionnaire focus group discussions were generate data for study. regression analysis indicated that style had statistically significant effect predicting learners as by R2 =.206 (20.6%); F(1,18), = 4.661, B= .541, t=2.159, p<0.045. concluded most children active conversation parents, also given token before doing task, made demands children. recommends should use enhance children’s development.

This study aims to translate the Strength-Based Parenting Questionnaire Parent-Version (SBP-Q-PV) into Malay and describe its validation process among Malaysian parents. In Phase 1, forward-backward translation of SBP-Q-PV was described. 2, conducted (n1 = 180), hypothesized factor structure verified (n2 100). The principal component analysis derived a 14-item two-factor model. confirmatory revealed that model demonstrated acceptable goodness-of-fit indices (χ2/df 1.75; CFI 0.95, NFI 0.88, TLI 0.93, PNFI 0.74) accounted for 63.87% total variance explained. All items were loaded same domain as original questionnaire. final questionnaire recorded excellent internal consistency estimates 0.92 0.95 in Study 1 respectively. Psychological well-being merupakan suatu kondisi dimana remaja mampu mencapai fungsi psikologis yang optimal sebagai hasil pengalaman hidup diperolehnya. Salah satu faktor mempengaruhi psychological adalah evaluasi terhadap seperti pola asuh diberikan orangtua, salah satunya yaitu otoritatif. Tujuan utama dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana hubungan antara pengasuhan otoritatif dengan pada remaja. Penelitian melibatkan 154 di Pekanbaru dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Data diperoleh skala psikologi yakni Well-Being Scale oleh Ryff (1996) koefisien reliabilitas sebesar 0,924 dan berdasarkan teori Baumrind (1991) 0,931. Berdasarkan analisis data menunjukkan bahwa berada kategori tinggi. Hasil korelasi product moment (r) 0,656 serta sumbangan efektif 0,43 atau 43% berarti terdapat positif Artinya semakin baik diterapkan orangtua maka pula diri

Emotion regulation mediates associations between parenting practices and ethnic minority college students' prosocial behaviors DOI Open Access

The current study examined associations between Black and Latinx college students' mothers' fathers' parenting practices, emotion regulation, prosocial behaviors. College students (N = 567 participants; 64 percent Latinx; 83 female) responded to a survey with measures regarding parental nurturance psychological control, reappraisal expressive suppression, types of behavior. Parenting practices were linked young adults' behavior via regulation. Associations these variables differed for mothers fathers. In terms indirect effects, maternal was indirectly associated behaviors reappraisal. None the processes moderated by ethnicity or gender. Discussion focuses on how findings support theory extend research studying role within ethnic minority adults.
