The recently intensified trend of centripetal movements from small to bigger centres has multiplied the number inhabitants large cities. In Italy, this resulted in worrying figures: more than 70% Italian Municipalities have less 5,000 inhabitants. Despite several regional and national policies dedicating programs funds counteract progressive phenomenon fostering repopulation abandoned villages, is far being halted. Though functional gap between cities villages evident, study previous research on theme aim change perspective possible uses processes pivoting their potential as places where enjoy different lifestyles. focus ecovillage model, developing a set specific indicators individuate them through peculiar aspects assess benefits vulnerabilities. An experimental application also proposed 7 ecovillages.
