Abstract This chapter examines the collective nature of mobility responses generated in response to climate change. Whether impacted populations are forcibly displaced, relocate preserve livelihoods, or strive remain place, myriad social, economic, political, and biophysical changes that unfold a changing often induce action geared toward ameliorating challenges relocation preserving place-based social cultural ties. Climate change is exposing populations to increasing temperatures and extreme weather events in many parts of Australia. To prepare for climate challenges, there a growing need Local Health Districts (LHDs) identify potential health impacts their region strengthen the capacity system respond accordingly. This rapid review summarised existing evidence research gaps on impact services Northern New South Wales (NSW)—a ‘hotspot’ disaster declarations. We systematically searched online databases selected 11 peer-reviewed studies published between 2012–2022 NSW region. The most explored outcome was mental aftermath floods droughts, followed by increased healthcare utilisation due respiratory, cardiovascular mortality outcomes associated with bushfire smoke or heat waves. Future directions were recommended understand: compounding system, local data needs that can better inform models predict future risks region, vulnerable require whole-of-system response during different phases disasters. In conclusion, provided LHD may undertake adaptation mitigation policies strategies relevant

Against the backdrop of global climate change, extreme weather events, such as heavy rainfall, typhoons, tsunamis, and rising sea levels, have become frequent, posing unprecedented challenges to human society. As an important strategy for coastal cities respond climate-induced evacuation is influenced by complex diverse factors. This study delves into driving mechanisms population migration willingness, revealing dynamic balance push, pull, resistance factors their interaction with individual value orientations affecting decisions. By constructing a Logistic Regression Model, this research quantitatively analyzes significant impacts personal circumstances, family characteristics, living conditions, risk perception, compensation relocation, supportive policies on using Shanghai case study. The findings indicate that age, education level, household size, housing type, are key Building upon multidimensional capital threshold response patterns identified in research, proposes three-phase progressive policy framework: initially, establishing integrated human–material–social framework implement tiered relocation incentive programs, which address decision window constraints through cognitive empowerment asset replacement strategies; subsequently, creating adjustment mechanism developing toolkits aligned inverted U-shaped utility curves while enhancing synergistic effects between cultural cognition transformation vocational training; ultimately, innovating institutional–cultural co-governance paradigm rebalances public service dependency place attachment spatial equity redistribution. Specific recommendations encompass designing modular curricula, social network transplantation mechanisms, piloting citizenship regimes, cross-border governance knowledge platforms. These interventions encompassing restructuring, responsiveness, adaptation offer valuable insights resolving “development resilience–migration inertia” paradox cities.

For the majority of people, moving abroad is already a difficult decision that brings on worry. Unfortunately, consequences extreme climate change are forcing people to migrate throughout globe, causing suffering. Consequences include soil erosion, natural disasters, sea level rise, and agricultural damage. An unstoppable chain reaction sparked by these impacts. It starts environmental issues, which grow into biological directly indirectly impact people's bodies, minds, social structures. Furthermore, if nothing done stop it, this kind displacement isn't decreasing at all will just continue rise. This chapter aims provide accurate information about migration brought change, with focus psychological effects; however, it also briefly discusses physical socioeconomic ones.
