Abstract Backgroud With the increasing importance of computational skills in healthcare, there is a growing need to equip medical students with programming knowledge address complex healthcare challenges effectively. Traditional methods, however, can be challenging for due heavy academic loads and limited exposure coding. Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) presents promising solution these issues. Methods This research evaluated feasibility Chat2R, an R assistance tool powered by GenAI, within postgraduate course “Practical Techniques Medical Data Mining” at Peking Union College (PUMC). A mixed-methods approach was used, combining quantitative surveys qualitative insights assess tool’s effectiveness students’ reception. Quantitative data gathered through post-implementation measuring students' perceptions their coding proficiency utility. Qualitative analysis explored student interactions identifying key concerns enhance educational experience. Results total 31 from 14 different disciplines participated survey. The positive feedback supported integration Chat2R as valuable tool, highlighting GenAI’s role enhancing thinking skills. Between March 13 April 2, 2024, 28 actively engaged generating 1,603 questions. Of these, 311 were specifically related defined processes: 138 questions on collection, 74 preprocessing, 4 exploration, 87 visualization, 8 modeling. Conclusion study demonstrates that integrating GenAI-based significantly education students. It improves thinking, supports both lecture practical learning, addresses exposure. Positive highlights its providing fostering interactive, student-centered learning environment. findings also underscore professional development educators effectively incorporate GenAI tools into teaching. Future enhancements could include AutoML capabilities, enabling guide AI-driven better utilize AI clinical contexts.

Published: March 11, 2025

The emergence of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has transformed various sectors, including education. This narrative scoping review examines how GenAI is being integrated into teacher training programs, exploring its applications, benefits, challenges, and implementation frameworks. By synthesizing findings from recent literature (2022-2025), we identify key themes the development AI literacy among teachers, impact on pedagogical content knowledge, ethical considerations in implementation. Our analysis reveals significant benefits enhancing teaching performance facilitating personalized learning, while also highlighting challenges such as technical limitations, concerns, resistance to change. We gaps current research, particularly non-STEM subjects framework development, suggest directions for future research advance responsible integration

Higher learning institutions in Tanzania is among the sectors that has started capitalizing on digital technology course of delivering their training programs. In coping with dynamics instructors are at centres realizing change and harnessing its potentials process. The instructors’ employed pedagogy great concern process achieving desired students outcomes. This research article therefore, assessed influence pedagogies outcomes selected higher Tanzania. study guided by two theoretical models which include Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as developed Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK).The cross- sectional design where data were collected once from different regions. 583 academic staff population designation starting tutorial assistant to full professor who currently engaging teaching activities identified A sample 237 randomly for this study. Self-administered questionnaire, key informants interview focus group discussion collection tools. descriptive structural equation model (SEM) performed analyse data. findings indicate statistically positive significant influence’ Specifically path analysis indicates employment contributed 36% s.
