We present a novel mitogenome assembly of the Redlip Shiner, Notropis chiliticus, and assemblies for Greenhead N. chlorocephalus (Cypriniformes: Leuciscidae). Both are charismatic minnows in taxonomic group Hydrophlox endemic to eastern United States. The chiliticus genome contains 16,711bp 16,706bp each comprising total 13 protein coding genes, 22 tRNAs, two rRNAs, control region. Sequence order composition similar other Notropis. provide evidence supporting monophyletic Hydrophlox, while phylogenetic relationships within support convoluted revisions throughout history genus.
