This study examines the development and dynamics of transnational youth activism in Asia, focusing on case Milk Tea Alliance (MTA). It addresses two research questions: “How did it emerge?” has continued until today?”. Through interviews with 50 activists across argues that MTA networks were developed nurtured over many years, rather than being solely facilitated by digital communication technologies. Digital activism in Southeast Asia is on the rise. The Milk Tea Alliance, known as a collaboration of netizens voicing human rights concerns Asia, has now reached citizens Asian autocratic regimes, including Myanmar. Having faced decades oppression and undemocratic rule, Alliance Myanmar been vocal disseminating post-2021 military coup domestic situation reimagining what democratic would consist future. This perspective article argues significance digital for by tracing existing literature misses assessing this phenomenon nexus between Myanmar’s prospects change state’s landscape. Taking into consideration development 2020 2024 adopting theoretical frameworks “legislative opportunism” “liberation technology,” study concludes several possibilities: (1) massive following could establish foundations offline movements mimicking Arab Spring; (2) harnessing thoughts among citizens; (3) changes from within are feasible through compared to externally imposed actions such regional organization ASEAN.

ขบวนการเคลื่อนไหวของคนรุ่นใหม่ไทยปี 2563-2564 เป็นตัวอย่างขบวนการเคลื่อนไหวที่สามารถระดมการสนับสนุนของมวลชนคนรุ่นใหม่ได้จำนวนมาก แต่ไม่สามารถผลักดันข้อเรียกร้องในการรื้อถอนโครงสร้างและความเป็นอนุรักษ์นิยมของรัฐไทยได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรมดังที่ตั้งใจไว้ในช่วงเริ่มต้นการชุมนุม ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการล้มรัฐบาลที่นำโดยอดีตผู้นำการรัฐประหาร การแก้ไขรัฐธรรมนูญ หรือการปฏิรูปสถาบันกษัตริย์ แต่จากการวิจัยกลับพบว่า การเคลื่อนไหวของคนรุ่นใหม่ส่งผลกระทบและสร้างการเปลี่ยนแปลงต่อสังคมและการเมืองไทยในมิติอื่น ๆใน 5 มิติ ได้แก่ หนึ่ง การสร้างพลเมืองหนุ่มสาวที่มีความตื่นตัวและพร้อมผลักดันการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางการเมืองในระยะยาว สอง ความตื่นตัวอย่างต่อเนื่องของแกนนำเก่าและการสร้างแกนนำการเคลื่อนไหวทางการเมืองรุ่นใหม่ในการผลักดันการเคลื่อนไหวทางการเมืองในระยะต่อ ๆไป สาม ความสำเร็จในการผลักดันแนวคิดเสรีนิยมให้กลายเป็นแนวคิดกระแสหลักในสังคมวงกว้างทั้งในสื่อมวลชนและคนรุ่นอื่น ๆ สี่ ความสำเร็จในการสร้างความเป็นสถาบันให้กับพรรคการเมืองที่เป็นตัวแทนของคนรุ่นใหม่ และ ห้า การเปลี่ยนแปลงด้านกฎหมายและนโยบายในระยะยาว
