The optical response with tunable direction and carrier transport are highly desirable for optoelectronic devices. Here, we find a switchable dependent singly polarized exciton E∥x or E∥y mode in the wurtzite (wz) monolayer by ferroelastic phase transition external strain. This reversible switching is facilitated valence band inversion, which arises from reordering of heavy-hole light-hole states around maximum wz monolayer. Our results facilitate precise modulation two-dimensional materials paves way designing devices fully controllable polarization transition.
