Given the critical urgency to combat escalating climate crisis and continuous rise in agricultural carbon emissions (ACE) China, accurately forecasting their future trends is crucial. This research employs emission factor method assess ACE throughout mainland China from 1993 2021. To refine our approach, both statistical neural network methodologies were utilized pinpoint key factors influencing ACE. We crafted models incorporating deep learning techniques traditional methods. Notably, Tree-structured Parzen Estimator Bayesian Optimization (TPEBO) algorithm was applied optimize Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, culminating creation of a superior integrated TPEBO-LSTM model that demonstrated strong performance across various datasets. The outcomes suggest 24 provinces are expected reach zenith before 2030, primarily driven by farm operations, as well livestock poultry manure management. result provides significant tool for assessing different regions, offering insights crucial targeted mitigation strategies.

Rapidly progressing climate heating as well ongoing economic and population growth exacerbate the challenges of reconciling multitude land functions services. Terrestrial ecosystems support biodiversity regulation deliver resources like food, energy, or fiber, while infrastructures proliferate. Navigating resulting "global squeeze" aims to maintain a healthy biosphere supporting land-based services for decent living us all. To elucidate trade-offs synergies related global squeeze, we discuss key components system their interplay, trade-offs, past trends, current geographical patterns. We examine three social-science concepts explore suitability navigating squeeze identify demand-side strategies, reducing overconsumption, that may emerge no-regret solutions in industrialized contexts. conclude enhancing analytical capabilities steer change requires shifting from isolated driver-impact analyses toward ex ante integration societal ecological sustainability targets on an equal footing.

Abstract Land use is intimately linked to key components of the Earth system, including climate biodiversity and biogeochemical cycles. Advanced understanding patterns dynamics land vital for assessing impacts on these system developing strategies ensure sustainability. However, thematically detailed data that enable analyses spatiotemporal use, land-use intensity, are currently lacking. This study presents a comprehensive cube (LUIcube) traces global area intensity developments between 1992 2020 annually at 30 arcsecond spatial resolution. It discerns 32 classes can be aggregated cropland, grazing land, forestry, built-up wilderness. Land-use represented through framework Human Appropriation Net Primary Production, which allows quantify changes in NPP, respectively biomass flows, induced by conversion land-management. The LUIcube provides necessary database analyzing role natural socioeconomic drivers change its ecological inform sustainable management.
