Spatial genes represent the fundamental interplay among morphological characteristics of historical districts. Identifying and analyzing these elements can enhance our understanding urban spatial development, uncover meanings, provide informed recommendations for future development. This study focuses on Xuzhou Huilongwo district, employing geographic information system, Global Mapper, other digital technologies to determine area’s microtopographic features. Qualitative methodologies extract street segments, entry spaces, node spaces. By summarizing microtopography’s influence alley characteristics, valuable samples were selected visually represented analysis. included examining segment interface, space sequences, planar morphology The findings reveal that architecture aligns with topographical features, exhibiting a multi-directional distribution. Height differences help establish boundaries pathways’ experiential quality. Additionally, topography significantly influences leading undulating sequences in provides insights into preservation enhancement streets alleys within Xuzhou’s district.

Currently, coordinated development in terms of perceived urban quality and function has become a key problem. However, there is an imbalance between the street environment amenities. It necessary to explore current status propose optimization strategies promote spaces. Dalian, China, was selected as study area. Based on space syntax, high-accessibility low-accessibility streets were sites. An evaluation system constructed part study. included quality. Data density diversity amenities obtained by establishing points interest (POIs). The subjective psychological perception calculated using view images (SVIs). Then, coupling analysis based conducted results indicated that differences levels regard spatial Dalian. Specifically, mainly concentrated central higher than streets. found had highest proportions advantage opportunity beauty lowest maintenance among improvement Openness As result analysis, this not only helps optimize layout improve environment, but also provides practical guidance for future design. Additionally, will help environments enhance overall livability environment.

Since the reform and opening-up policy, accelerated urbanization rate has triggered extensive construction of new towns, leading to architectural homogenization environmental quality degradation. As urban development transitions toward a “quality improvement” paradigm, there is an urgent need synergistically enhance health performance human settlements through optimization public space environments. The purpose this study explore impact built environment streets on residents’ perceptions. In particular, in context rapid urbanization, how improve mental life residents by improving street environment. Changbai Island Street Heping District Shenyang City was selected for study. Baidu View images combined with machine learning were employed quantify physical characterizations like plants buildings. ‘Place Pulse 2.0’ dataset utilized obtain data perceptions as beautiful, safe, boring, lively. Correlation regression analyses used reveal relationship between characteristics such green visual index, openness, pedestrians. It discovered that index had positive effect it being beautiful while openness building enclosure factors influenced lively or boring. This provides empirical support planning, emphasizing focus integrating greenery, sense spatial enclosure, traffic mobility design. Optimization strategies increasing coverage, controlling density, optimizing pedestrian space, enhancing proposed. results not only help understand but also provide theoretical basis practical guidance
