Abstract Nostalgia is known to boost state wellbeing and authenticity for people in the general population. However, little research has explored nostalgia’s benefits outside of This study had two: (1) explore music evoked nostalgia its effects on mood, autistic individuals, a group who tend experience reduced wellbeing, compared non-autistic individuals (2) examine influence dispositional rumination reflection any gained from nostalgic recollection. 146 (69 diagnosed 77 self-identified as autistic) 174 aged 18–25 took part an online survey.
