A Nature-Immersive Virtual Reality Intervention to Support Hospice Family Caregivers: Qualitative Findings from a Pilot Study

Family caregivers (FCGs) of cancer patients who are in hospice experience psychological challenges and poor quality life (QOL) as a consequence caregiving demands anticipatory loss. Supportive interventions needed. Exposure to nature offers source relaxation; however, FCGs often homebound have limited opportunities for respite. Technology-mediated experiences delivered via virtual reality (VR) may be an alternative. The purpose was explore the perspectives completed nature-immersive VR intervention enhancement their emotional health QOL.
