Abstract Translocation of endangered taxa could be an effective conservation strategy to mitigate the risk extinction. This research examined growth and development translocated important orchid species region, Rhynchostylis retusa L. Blume. The investigation was carried out with objective understanding association epiphytes six phorophytes, as well factors phorophyte preference best adaptability orchids on it. Plant morphological physiological aspects (growth, flower production regulation photosynthetic pigments), along studies phorophytes (morphological physicochemical studies) indicated that R. has for Michelia champaca (T5) followed by Mangifera indica (T1) under subtropical humid climate Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, India. Phorophyte barks possessing fine moderately rough texture, acidic pH range bark water holding capacity 69–74% favoured establishment orchid. Additionally, lower lignin content (< 30%) found suitable development. a possible recommendation its translocation aiming at environmental restoration in-situ condition.

The taxonomic identification of plant species is traditionally based on morphological traits, the use which may create difficulties in cases close-related showing great variability. In such cases, DNA markers for and delimitation can be help. Himantoglossum W.D.J.Koch (Orchidaceae) a genus with notable variability, comprising clade hircinum-caprinum (Himantoglossum s.s.) nine taxa, from H. jankae, hircinum, montis-tauri, caprinum samariense have being reported Greece. However, previous study s.s. all over Greece could not verify presence these species, but only one highly diverse taxon throughout country. Here, we studied genetic variation differentiation populations entire distribution employing ISSR markers, to further elucidate status High was revealed, both “core” peripheral/marginal ones, pointing their evolutionary potential. This mainly attributed differences within and, lesser extent, among them. No proposed belong different found no species-specific were identified that discriminate above rest. addition, two cpDNA nDNA fragments (accD, psbA-trnH ITS2, respectively) sequenced number individuals representative whole dataset. All three conserved, restricted polymorphism having correlation or taxa Overall, high Greece, especially valuable asset towards conservation.

Background: Research on orchids has experienced substantial growth since the early 20th century, reflecting their ecological and evolutionary significance. Methods: This paper provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of orchid-related literature published between 1902 2024, based data retrieved from Web Science Core Collection™ (WoS). Results: The primary goal is to assess global research landscape by identifying key authors, institutions, journals, as well major themes in field. A thorough publication trends, citation frequencies, keyword co-occurrence networks was conducted uncover significant hotspots. findings indicate that orchid evolved foundational topics such taxonomy classification more intricate subjects, including conservation strategies, orchid-pollinator dynamics, role ecosystem functions. Additionally, biotechnology-related emerging dominant trend. study also highlights China highest output, while collaboration United States Europe continues grow. co-word keywords suggests future likely continue focus conservation, impacts climate change, pollination biology, symbiotic relationships with mycorrhizal fungi. Conclusions: review offers valuable insights for researchers conservationists, helping identify priorities strategies preservation sustainable use orchids.
