ABSTRACT Objective Patients with anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis suffer from a severe neuropsychiatric syndrome, yet most patients show no abnormalities in routine magnetic resonance imaging. In contrast, advanced neuroimaging studies have consistently identified disrupted functional connectivity these patients, recent work suggesting increased volatility of state dynamics. Here, we investigate network dynamics through the spatiotemporal trajectory meta-state transitions, yielding time-resolved account brain exploration encephalitis. Methods Resting-state imaging data were acquired 73 NMDAR and age- sex-matched healthy controls. Time-resolved was clustered into meta-states, giving rise to transition graph states as nodes transitions between meta-states weighted, directed edges. Network topology, robustness, cost networks compared groups. Altered dynamic functional connectivity has been associated with motor impairments in the acute phase post-stroke. Its association somatosensory early sub-acute remains unexplored.To investigate altered post-stroke.We collected resting state magnetic resonance imaging and clinical function of upper limb 20 subacute stroke patients 16 healthy controls (HC). A sliding-window approach was used to identify 3 states based on estimated sensorimotor related networks. Network components were subdivided into domains: cortical subcortical sensorimotor, as well cognitive control network. Between-group differences investigated using independent t-tests Mann-Whitney-U tests. Analyzes performed correction for age, head motion time post-stroke corrected multiple comparisons.Stroke spent significantly less a weakly connected network (state 3; dwell time: pstate3 = 0.003, meanstroke 53.02, SDstroke 53.13; meanHC 118.92, SDHC 72.84), stayed shorter but more intervals highly intra-domain 1; fraction pstate 1 < 0.001, 0.46, 0.26; 0.26, 0.21) compared HC. After 8 weeks therapy, improvements wrist proprioception moderately decreases times toward normalized pattern.Changes temporal properties large-scale interactions are present rehabilitation could indicate enhanced neural plasticity. Patients with anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (anti-NMDAR) encephalitis often experience severe symptoms. Resting-state functional MRI (rs-fMRI) has revealed widespread impairment of networks in patients. However, the changes information flow remain unclear. This study aims to investigate intrinsic connectivity (FC) both within and between resting-state (RSNs), as well alterations effective (EC) these networks. data were collected from 25 patients anti-NMDAR 30 healthy controls (HCs) matched for age, sex, educational level. Changes RSNs analyzed using independent component analysis (ICA). The interaction was identified by granger causality (GCA). Compared HCs, exhibited lower performance on Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), terms correct numbers categories. Additionally, demonstrated decreased scores Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). Neuroimaging studies abnormal intra-FC default mode network (DMN), increased visual (VN) dorsal attention (DAN), inter-FC VN frontoparietal (FPN). ABSTRACT Background Functional neuroimaging studies have revealed complex and heterogeneous patterns of aberrant functional connectivity (FC) in multiple sclerosis (MS), yet it remains unclear how time-resolved FC relates to variance clinical disease severity. Objectives To characterize brain activity MS patients with analysis explore the relationship between severity, multi-domain impairments, altered network dynamics. Methods Resting-state MRI data were acquired from 101 age- sex-matched healthy controls (HC). Dynamic identified five states that compared HC high vs. low disability.
