Background Wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD) is a vision-threatening eye disease worldwide. The amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) method was used to observe changes in spontaneous brain activity, which may help investigate the underlying pathological mechanism AMD. Methods Eighteen patients with wAMD and 18 age- gender-matched healthy controls (HCs) were recruited. ALFF on each subject mean values compared between groups. receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve compare two Results temporal lobe limbic lobe/parahippocampal gyrus significantly higher than controls, while postcentral lower. under ROC (AUC) three regions shows high accuracy diagnosis. Conclusion abnormal activity AMD suggests scope for use diagnosis or prognosis

The mobility of people with severe visual impairment is limited affecting their comfort and productivity. There are about 45 million who blind global financial burden annual cost productivity estimated to be USD411 billion according World Health Organization report 2024. contributions the visually impaired gross domestic product (GDP) can enhanced deploying technology. A novel sensory substitution device that enables or fairly hear objects in place seeing proposed. wearable echolocation was developed using three ultrasonic sensors, one placed right, left, middle goggle each connected a buzzer. Audible compass implemented circuitry guide user on direction while walking. In this configuration, guided alerted any obstacle within field coverage so navigate desired destination unaided without relying internet. prototype easy use does not require complex training. tested by ten enrolled validated its effectiveness efficiency. comparatively low cost, noninvasive, energy efficient mass producible.
