Background/Objectives: Lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)] plays a significant role in atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease (CVD). Genetic regulation of Lp(a) involves variations the apo(a) LPA gene, as specific polymorphisms like rs10455872 rs3798220, both linked to higher levels CVD. CVD remains leading global cause death, with high increasingly recognized factor younger patients no other risk factors. We aimed evaluate association genetic its effect on there are existing inconsistent findings. Methods: This case–control study included 251 subjects median age 52 years (interquartile range, IQR = 17) elevated levels. Cases were who experienced early incidents (women < 65, men 55 old), control group without such history. Genotyping gene (rs10455872 rs3798220) was performed, demographic data collected. To between genotypes (CVI), several logistic regression models performed. The cut-off points for determined using diagnostic test accuracy measures. Results: rs3798220-C allele associated (288 ± 166 nmol/L cases vs. 189 102 controls, p 0.001) myocardial infarction (53% 36% 0.036). Among cases, 28.9% carried allele, compared 18.7% controls. rs10455872-G slightly more prevalent controls (34.15% 29.69%) but further associations. In this study, value 151 nmol/L, positive family history CVD, is chance developing CVI. Conclusions: demonstrates an levels, well increased onset infarction. However, obtained should be evaluated at much larger scale.

Atherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease that primarily affects large and medium-sized arteries one of the leading causes death worldwide. This article reviews multifaceted role mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) in AS, including its structure, function, release, relationship with inflammation. Damage release mtDNA are considered central drivers development as they participate progression AS by activating pathways affecting lipid metabolism. Therefore, therapeutic strategies targeting downstream effects may provide new avenues to address this global health challenge.

Background Systemic inflammation, immune and nutrition status are closely linked to the occurrence development of coronary heart disease (CHD). Pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) is a new method for evaluating systemic inflammation status. Cardiovascular diseases have become the leading cause of death in developed countries. Among these, some are related to disruptions electrical synchronization cardiac tissue arrhythmias such as atrial flutter, ventricular tachycardia, or fibrillation. Their origin is diverse and involves several spatial temporal scales, ranging from nanoscale ion channel dysfunctions tissue-level fibrosis ischemia. Mathematical models play a crucial role elucidating mechanisms underlying by simulating physiological properties across different scales. These investigate effects genetic mutations, pathological conditions, anti-arrhythmic interventions on heart dynamics. Despite their varying levels complexity, they proven be important understanding triggers arrhythmia, optimizing defibrillation protocols, exploring nonlinear dynamics electrophysiology. In this work, we present modeling approaches electrophysiology cells share examples our own research where these significantly contributed arrhythmias. Although computational faces challenges integrating data multiple it remains an indispensable tool for advancing knowledge biophysics improving therapeutic strategies.

Background: Arterial thrombosis (AT), the main clinical manifestations of which are ischemic heart disease (IHD) and stroke (IS), is associated with lowered free triiodothyronine (fT3) in acute (aIS) myocardial infarction (aMI) but increased reverse T3 (rT3) aMI, worse outcomes at one year. Whether such associations remain independent over a longer follow-up period value rT3 aIS largely unknown. This study was dedicated to examining impact fT3 on aMI all-cause mortality 5-year period. Background: Ganoderma lucidum spore oil (GLSO) is widely recognized for its notable medicinal and nutritional properties. This study aimed to systematically evaluate the efficacy safety of GLSO extract in individuals with dyslipidemia. Methods: In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 110 participants were enrolled randomly assigned either intervention group or placebo group. A chi-square test baseline characteristics confirmed no significant differences age sex distribution between two groups. Results: After 12 weeks intervention, exhibited significantly lower levels total cholesterol (CHO), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), alongside higher high-density (HDL-C), compared group, all reaching statistical significance. Furthermore, relative percentage changes lipid parameters also demonstrated intergroup differences. Safety analyses revealed that had effects on renal function parameters, whereas hepatic showed statistically improvement Conclusions: effectively improved profiles liver function, favorable tolerability profile. These findings strongly support potential clinical application management

Coronary artery blockage, the most common cardiovascular problem, is often treated with drug-eluting stents (DES). This study aims to address main limitation of traditional angioplasty therapy. Thus, designing, fabricating, and analyzing a novel polymeric stent using liquid crystal display (LCD) technology may potentially represent an innovative approach DES in near future. Therefore, poly (lactic acid) (PLA) based 3D-printed was designed SolidWorks software fabricated method. The cyclosporine-loaded prepared analyzed optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Loading efficiency percentage release characteristics were estimated. platform successfully manufactured PLA resin.
