Cervidae represents a family that is not only rich in species diversity but also exhibits wide range of karyotypes. The controversies regarding the phylogeny and classification still persist. flourishing development genomic era has made it possible to address these issues at level. Here, genomes nine were used explore chromosomal evolutionary events Cervidae. By conducting whole-genome comparisons, we identified single-copy orthologous genes across constructed phylogenetic tree based on sequences, providing new insights into Cervidae, particularly relationship among sika deer, red wapiti Tarim deer. Gene analysis revealed contractions olfactory receptor gene expansions histone eight species. Furthermore, synteny was species, revealing six fissions during process from Bovidae Notably, specific fusion found four Cervus, unique event Muntiacus reevesi. Our study further completed within demonstrated feasibility inferring Additionally, our findings evolution lay foundation for comprehensive research
