Community
gardening
is
a
novel
application
to
community
organizing.
The
point
of
this
article
place
mode
organizing
in
community-based
perspective.
By
becoming
community-based,
strategy
will
become
organic
and
help
strengthen
bonds
promote
collective
action.
In
project,
local
knowledge
control
are
paramount.
But
for
change
occur
proper,
underlying
philosophy
must
be
developed.

Abstract
Food
poverty
and
insecurity
have
become
a
public
health
emergency
in
many
high-income
countries.
News
media
coverage
can
shape
political
views
towards
such
issues.
This
rapid
review
synthesizes
the
evidence
on
how
food
are
represented
news
media.
Peer-reviewed
publications
were
accessed
through
three
electronic
databases,
with
reference
lists
of
all
included
studies
screened.
Primary
research
conducted
countries
published
English
since
1995
included,
no
restrictions
study
methods.
A
combination
deductive
coding
to
Entman’s
framing
theory
inductive
analysis
was
used.
Ten
studies,
mostly
rated
as
low
quality,
review.
Newspapers
only
type
examined.
The
findings
showed
largely
absent
nuanced
understanding
insecurity,
problem
often
defined
by
bank
use
consequences
mainly
focused
physical
health.

structural
factors,
solutions
charitable

Food
poverty
has
emerged
as
public
health
issues
in
the
Republic
of
Ireland
(ROI)
and
Northern
(NI)
last
decade.
Concurrently,
food
a
significant
news
story
across
broadcast
media
both
ROI
NI.
While
research
relation
to
how
is
framed
media,
there
dearth
literature
on
this
Irish
context.
This
article
seeks
address
gap
by
setting
out
understand
ways
which
emerges
island
Ireland.
Through
gathering
material
from
archives,
between
November
2017
April
2023,
deployed
analysis
using
Entman’s
framing
theory
priori
framework.
In
doing
so,
much
tended
orientate
around
discursive
frames
relating
working
poor,
‘deservingness’
help
through
banks
or
government
failure.
From
these
findings,
makes
two
central
recommendations:
(i)
voices
those
affected
need
be
centrally
included
stories
when
it
helpful
(ii)
production
cultures
focus
more
constructive
journalism
approaches.
