Abstract Enhancing plant adaptation to low input conditions is a fundamental goal for implementing sustainable agriculture. In the present study, two eggplant ( Solanum melongena ) accessions (MEL1 and MEL5), introgression lines (ILs) derived from wild relatives S. dasyphyllum (IL-M1-D1) insanum (IL-M5-I9), heterozygous version of this last IL (IL Het -M5-I9), along with hybrids among them were evaluated under N (LN) conditions. IL-M1-D1 carries an introgressed fragment 4.9 Mb in homozygosis on chromosome 2, while IL-M5-I9 -M5-I9 carry 21.5 9 heterozygosis, respectively, . Multiple quantitative trait loci (QTLs) several traits interest associated both introgressions LN previous study segregating advanced backcrosses. Here we performance these materials 22 agronomic developmental fertilization Hybrids ILs enabled genetic background effects QTLs expression. The showed significant phenotypic variation, particularly within 9. Statistical analysis revealed no differences carrying or not 2 , only slight observed between its recurrent parent MEL1, suggesting limited impact phenotype variation. However, MEL5, together association genotypic variation introgression, allowed identification 13 These results successfully validated previously identified flavonol content leaves, nitrogen balanced index, fruit mean weight, leaves and, also nine new genomic region This emphasizes influence environmental conditions, genotypes, backgrounds expression highlights importance QTL validation. findings contribute valuable insights developing cultivars more agriculture,
