Abstract Caprifoliaceae sensu APG IV shows a disjunctive distribution between Eurasia and America, is an excellent study system for exploring the formation of species with Eurasian–North American disjunct distribution. Due to widespread hybridization introgression in as well morphological convergence discontinuous species, phylogenetic relationships among subfamilies systematic positions some genera have yet be fully resolved. Therefore, we present overview classification molecular studies recent years, aiming provide reference facilitate discussions problems directions family.

Mountain ecosystems harbor high levels of biodiversity, but the genetic mechanisms underlying adaptation to harsh alpine conditions remain largely unknown. Bergenia purpurascens (Saxifragaceae) is an important endemic species Himalaya-Hengduan Mountains (HHM), with this being used as a source medicine and ornamental plant. In study, we generated high-quality genome assembly comprising scaffolds representing 17 chromosomes, total length 650.70 Mb scaffold N50 34.19 Mb. A 45,841 protein-coding genes were annotated, 10,797 noncoding RNAs identified. Repeat sequences accounted for 56.72% genome. The reference B. serves valuable resource studying bergenin biosynthesis, understanding plants environments.

R. platypodum (Rhododendron platypodum) is an endangered alpine species with a highly restricted distribution in the southwestern region of China, which possesses significant ornamental and horticultural value. In this study, high-quality genome assembly at chromosomal level reported. The total size was determined to be 642.25 Mb, contig N50 25.64 it contains 36,522 predicted genes. Comparative genomic analysis between other revealed expansion gene families, such as those related transition metal ion binding sodium transport, well contraction families involved recognition pollen pollen–pistil interaction. These findings might explain adaptation rocky habitats contribute its status. Furthermore, heat stress experiment conducted on platypodum, followed by transcriptome sequencing physiological co-analysis construct co-expression network. This identified candidate TAR1-A transcription factors exhibiting differential expression under stress. whole-genome sequencing, analysis, provide valuable resources for conservation offer insights into mechanisms
