Abstract Background Mites, encompassing medically and veterinary important species, are significant vectors of various pathogens, thereby presenting substantial challenges to public health agriculture. Understanding their biology control is critical for managing associated risks economic burdens. Objectives To provide a comprehensive review the biology, ecology, strategies mites, with particular emphasis on role in disease transmission current management. Methods A systematic existing literature was conducted focusing mite ecological interactions, approaches. Strategies examined included chemical control, biological agents, integrated pest management (IPM), evaluation effectiveness limitations. Results Control mites increasingly compromised by development acaricide resistance. Environmental factors, especially climate change, significantly influence distribution population dynamics. While IPM agents offer promising alternatives, gaps remain understanding molecular basis resistance consequences environmental change mite-vector relationships. Conclusions Effective sustainable requires shift towards approaches that combine insights environmentally informed strategies. Future research should target mechanisms broader context mite-borne diseases inform policy intervention efforts.
