Background/Objectives: In order to determine the basic structural characteristics of mitochondrial genome Cyphochilus crataceus and explore its phylogenetic status, as well understand codon usage bias Melolonthinae species, next-generation sequencing was used obtain sequence C. crataceus. Methods: Combined with 121 sequences Scarabaeidae downloaded from GeneBank, a tree family constructed using PhyloSuite v 1.2.3 software. Additionally, composition protein-coding genes 16 other species were analyzed. Results: The results showed that 17,946 bp in length, an A + T content 71.82%, exhibiting significant AT preference for ending base A/U, typical features mitogenomes. analysis RSCU, ENC-plot, neutrality plot revealed factors such nucleotide composition, gene mutations, natural selection can have impact on bias, but intensity varies. For crataceus, is primarily influenced by mutations. indicated that, apart Melolonthinae, all subfamilies within monophyletic. Conclusions: This study not only enriches information scarab beetles subfamily also provides important foundational molecular systematics, population genetics, ecology research Scarabaeidae.

Background: Ptinidae, within the infraorder Bostrichiformia, are a cosmopolitan, ecologically diverse but poorly known group. The phylogeny Bostrichiformia and monophyly of Ptinidae its phylogenetic placement in remain contentious. Methods: In this research, we determined entire mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) Gibbium aequinoctiale, first representative mitogenome subfamily Ptininae, reconstructed relationships for based on four datasets using maximum likelihood (ML) Bayesian inference (BI) methods. Results: G. aequinoctiale is circular molecule spanning 17,020 bp harbors 37 genes presumed control region (CR). exhibited marked preference utilization A T bases, which was also observed three kinds CR. AAT inferred as putative candidate initiation codon cytochrome oxidase subunits 1 (COI). contains tandem repeats (TDRs) one poly-thymine stretch (Poly-T) both coding strands. results appeared to support families, Nosodendridae, Derodontidae, Dermestidae, Bostrichidae, basal position latter two families Bostrichiformia. However, family not verified because species diverging from main lineage. Three clustered major clade among Bostrichidae grouped together sister groups. Conclusions: present study provides valuable information novel perspectives inner
