Extracellular cold-inducible RNA-binding protein (eCIRP) is a critical damage-associated molecular pattern (DAMP) that drives inflammation and tissue injury in hemorrhagic septic shock, has emerged as promising therapeutic target. Since then, extensive research using preclinical models of diseases patient materials explored eCIRP's role driving inflammatory responses its potential biomarker. The main objective this comprehensive review to provide detailed overview eCIRP, covering discovery, disease pathophysiology, mechanisms release action, biomarker, strategies targeting eCIRP ischemic diseases. We examine the molecular, cellular, immunological through which contributes progression, explore both well-established emerging areas research. Furthermore, we discuss across broad spectrum conditions, including ischemia-reperfusion injury, neurodegenerative diseases, radiation injury.
