Iron (Fe) and Zinc (Zn) are essential micronutrients for plant growth development. ZIP (ZRT, IRT-like protein) transporters, known their role in the regulation of uptake, pivotal facilitating absorption, transport, maintenance Fe/Zn homeostasis plants. Nicotiana tabacum has been widely used as a model gene function analysis; however, tobacco genes have not identified systematically. In this study, we comprehensive set 32 NtZIP genes, which were phylogenetically categorized into three distinct clades. The structures, characterized by exon/intron organization, protein motifs relatively conserved, particularly among within same clade. These exhibit an uneven distribution across 12 chromosomes. localization analysis revealed presence 11 pairs homeologous locus 7 tandem duplication genome. To further explore functionality these real-time quantitative reverse transcription PCR was employed to assess expression levels roots subjected metal deficiency. results indicated that certain specifically upregulated response either Fe or Zn Additionally, specific cis-elements promoter regions, such E-box associated with deficiency ZDRE box linked response, identified. This study lays foundational groundwork future research biological functions micronutrient homeostasis.
