An online, cross-sectional survey examined food insecurity, adverse childhood experiences, academics, health status, dieting, and associations with nutrition knowledge among 83 freshmen Educational Opportunity Program university students in California. Mean (SD) was 13.6 (5.0) out of a perfect score 29. Most (84%) reported being secure. The median experiences 1.00 (interquartile range, 0.00-3.00), an indication intermediate risk for toxic stress, the mean high school grade point average 3.62 (0.38) 4. More were associated higher ( P = .005). High predicted .003). results may be helpful designing larger, more representative studies population finding interventions.

In the UK, 7% of households are deemed food insecure; that is, they unable to access, acquire and prepare for table. Food insecurity is associated with numerous negative effects children, including reduced nutritional intake, social, behavioural developmental problems reductions in academic cognitive performance. Poorer mental health outcomes also experienced by both children parents living insecurity. A systematic review interventions tackle children's was undertaken Holly et al (2019) .
