'Shuijingmiyou'
pummelo
(SJ),
one
of
the
most
popular
fruits
in
Yunnan
province
China,
is
relatively
low
fruit
shape
(FS)
quality.
In
this
study,
we
compared
FS
promoting
effects
cross
pollinations
using
pollens
from
seven
varieties,
and
found
that
'Guanximiyou'
(GX)
cross-pollination
showed
best
on
SJ
by
shortening
its
neck.
To
explore
underlying
mechanism,
physiochemical
transcriptomic
differences
between
self-
cross-pollinated
ovaries
(SJO
GXO)
were
investigated.
Higher
salicylic
acid,
gibberellin
indole
acetic
acid
contents
superoxide
dismutase,
peroxidase
catalase
activities,
lower
polyphenol
oxidase
activity
determined
GXO
with
SJO.
Enrichment
analysis
identified
578
differentially
expressed
genes
(123
up-regulated
455
down-regulated)
involved
solute
transport,
RNA
biosynthesis,
phytohormone
action
cell
wall
organization
significantly
enriched.
