Neurodevelopmental abnormalities are considered to be one of the important causes schizophrenia. The offspring methylazoxymethanol acetate (MAM)–exposed mice recognized for dysregulation neurodevelopment and well-characterized with schizophrenia-like phenotypes. However, inhibition-related properties medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) hippocampus throughout adolescence adulthood have not been systematically elucidated. In this study, both 10 15 mg/kg MAM-exposed exhibited schizophrenia-related phenotypes in adulthood, including spontaneous locomotion hyperactivity deficits prepulse inhibition. We observed that there was an obvious parvalbumin (PV) loss mPFC mice, extending from adulthood. Moreover, frequency inhibitory postsynaptic currents (sIPSCs) pyramidal neurons at significantly dampened mice. Furthermore, firing rate putative increased, while decreased during conclusion, PV may contribute impaired function leading attenuation inhibition brain vitro vivo.
