We evaluated the association between two measures of social connection prior to COVID-19-social isolation and functional support-and loneliness during pandemic. The study was a retrospective longitudinal analysis 20,129 middle-aged older adults enrolled in Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA). drew upon waves CLSA data spanning three years supplemental COVID-19 Questionnaire eight months conduct our analysis. Social associated with only among persons who were lonely before pandemic (adjusted odds ratio [aOR]: 1.17; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.02, 1.35). Introduction The aging population in South Korea, characterized by an increasing number of older adults living alone, has raised concerns about its implications on mental health, specifically social isolation and loneliness that accompanies solitary arrangements. The COVID-19 pandemic has presented significant challenges to mental health worldwide, exacerbating symptoms across various populations. This meta-analysis aims evaluate the relationship between social support and symptoms, specifically depression, general anxiety, stress, during pandemic. We conducted a comprehensive literature search that identified 210 studies involving total of 216,104 participants. Data were analyzed using robust variance estimation with random effects assess correlations while also examining potential moderating factors such as age, gender, sample types.
