Describing home range and resource selection is crucial for understanding ecological needs creating conservation programs. Still, our knowledge of spatial behavioural ecology most species remains limited. Here, we used satellite transmitters to investigate core sizes, habitat selection, roost characteristics in seven tawny owl males Western Serbia during the autumn-winter period 2023. Using minimum convex polygon (MCP) autocorrelated kernel density estimation (AKDE), found clear variability area sizes. Also, adult heavier have smaller ranges than juvenile lightweight individuals. The Bhattacharyya coefficient showed minor overlap tagged males. final model evaluation suggests that likelihood occurrence was positively correlated with share anthropogenic infrastructure negatively associated increase proportion cultivated land within range. However, scores performance metrics moderate predictive accuracy, implying other unmeasured variables may dictate presence. Our study illustrates plasticity ability adapt a human-modified environment while providing new information about this widespread predator Europe.

Global agricultural landscapes are witnessing a concerning decline in biodiversity, and this trend is predicted to persist. To safeguard these biodiversity-rich areas, it crucial pinpoint hotspots effectively. In doing so, we used various species of avian predators as suitable sentinel animals due their mobility dependence on prey diversity abundance. Between 2019 2021, tracked 62 individuals from four bird using GPS loggers Estonian farmland. Dividing the study area into 50 m grids overlaying them with individuals' locations enabled us differentiate between activity control sites. We conducted surveys amphibian, bird, small mammal plant abundance determine if predator correlated overall biodiversity. Our findings revealed significantly higher surveyed groups within compared These continued be frequently by raptors subsequent year, albeit not two years later. conclusion, multispecies telemetry emerges an objective, dependable spatially accurate biodiversity indicator. With accumulation movement data, anticipate increased interest adoption approach monitoring.

This chapter examined the utilization of GeoAI for healthcare issues like patient demographics, socio-economic factors, health insurance coverage, and environmental conditions to enhance delivery. By analyzing population density data, can optimize placement facilities resources, ensuring equitable access. Environmental such as air water quality, identify regions at risk specific issues, guiding targeted interventions. address disparities by considering social determinants enabling personalized treatment plans. Integrating high-quality, timely, relevant geospatial data allow facilitate accurate decision-making resource allocation, improving outcomes public strategies. However, challenges include privacy security, managing technical operational integration complexities, requiring specialized expertise, which be overcome with robust governance interdisciplinary collaboration.
