Abstract
Play
is
widespread
in
mammals.
It
mostly
observed
juveniles
and
has
been
subdivided
three
categories,
social,
locomotor/rotational,
object
play.
Although
there
no
strict
consensus
on
its
ultimate
function,
the
dominant
idea
that
through
play
acquire
technical
cognitive
skills
for
their
adult
life.
In
certain
species,
however,
adults
remain
playful
especially
with
immatures.
This
pattern
can
be
particular
when
same-age
partners
immatures
are
lacking
if
also
invest
caretaking.
We
studied
ontogeny
of
cooperatively
breeding
common
marmoset
twins
from
age
two
to
six
months.
Social
increased
was
by
far
most
prevalent
category.
varied
age.
Before
19
weeks
old,
played
54%
time
average
either
one
parents
(in
a
dyad)
29%
after
old.
Thus,
despite
constant
presence
twin,
adult-immature
remained
considerable,
equal
contributions
mothers
fathers
trade-offs
other
care-taking
behaviours
parents.
However,
avoided
playing
simultaneously,
presumably
avoid
periods
vigilant.
