More than 3 years have passed since the emergence of COVID-19. On May 8, 2023, COVID-19 in Japan was downgraded to Category 5 by Infectious Disease Control Law. Objective: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) antibody titers level and duration of elevated levels are considered important indicators for confirming the efficacy disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines. The objective this study was to demonstrate changes in after second third doses COVID-19 vaccine, determine cases spontaneous infection with SARS-CoV-2 vaccination. Materials Methods: From June 2021 February 2023, IgG-type were measured 127 participants, including 74 outpatients 53 members staff, at Osaka Dental University Hospital (64 males 63 females, mean age 52.3 ± 19.0 years). Results: Consistent previous reports, titer decreased time, not only dose but also vaccine if there no infection. We confirmed that booster vaccination effective increasing titer. A total 21 natural infections observed administering two or more vaccine. Thirteen these patients had post-infection exceeding 40,000 AU/mL, some continued maintain tens thousands AU/mL even than 6 months passed since Conclusions: rise against novel longitudinal follow-up larger studies is warranted.

COVID-19 vaccination strategies, including heterologous prime–boost regimens and additional booster doses, aim to optimize immune responses. However, seroepidemiological studies on responses different vaccine types schedules remain limited. This study investigated antibody levels following homologous prime-and-boost in Bangladesh. In a cohort of 606 participants who received first/second/booster doses vaccines (AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm), anti-spike IgG anti-nucleocapsid were measured. Antibody titer variations with respect age, gender, intervals between prior infection status analyzed. mRNA elicited the highest after boosting. The AstraZeneca resulted sharp decline rate ~0.04 units per day. Second or significantly increased levels, especially males (p < 0.05). Older age correlated higher titers, likely reflecting previous infection, which was further confirmed by elevation levels. About 95.5% non-Sinopharm recipients positive, suggesting exposure exceeding self-reported infections (12.5%). boosting enhances humoral immunity over vector/inactivated vaccination. waning merits investigation across platforms.

This report examines the evolving role of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination in Japan, especially light reduced public concern following reclassification COVID-19 as a Category 5 infectious May 2023. With over half population estimated to have hybrid immunity from prior infections and vaccinations, this evaluated necessity frequency additional booster doses. Despite strong recommendations Japanese medical societies continue vaccination, skepticism remains owing financial burdens, adverse reactions, perceived limited benefits frequent boosters. Studies on antibody responses revealed that individuals with maintain robust protection significantly elevated titers persist extended periods. Case studies indicated durable among who both been vaccinated experienced breakthrough infections, raising questions about need for uniform policies. also discusses newly approved replicon-type (self-amplifying) vaccines currently available only which generated professional debates regarding their efficacy safety. A more personalized approach takes into account titers, infection history, individual choices is recommended. Finally, underscores importance aligning policies scientific evidence sentiment optimize countermeasures Japan.
