The emergence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) across bacterial pathogens presents a serious threat to global health. This is further exacerbated in tuberculosis (TB), mainly due protracted treatment regimen involving combination drugs. A diversity factors contributes the drug TB, which caused by pathogen Mycobacterium ( Mtb ). While traditional genetic mutation‐driven mechanisms operate , there are also several additional unique features this pathogen. Research past decade has enriched our understanding such unconventional as efflux pumps, heterogeneity, metabolic states, and host microenvironment. Given that discovery new antibiotics outpaced patterns displayed pathogen, newer strategies for combating desperately needed. In context approaches include targeting capability modulating environment prevent tolerance, activating anti‐mycobacterial pathways. review, we discuss understandings shaping set target both TB.
