Abstract
Ion
homeostasis
is
a
crucial
process
in
plants
that
closely
linked
to
the
efficiency
of
nutrient
uptake,
stress
tolerance
and
overall
plant
growth
development.
Nevertheless,
our
understanding
fundamental
processes
ion
still
incomplete
highly
fragmented.
Especially
at
mechanistic
level,
we
are
dissecting
physiological
systems
analyse
different
parts
isolation.
However,
modelling
approaches
have
shown
it
not
individual
transporters
but
rather
transporter
networks
(homeostats)
control
membrane
transport
associated
homeostatic
cells.
To
facilitate
access
such
theoretical
approaches,
potassium
homeostat
explained
here
detail
serve
as
blueprint
for
other
homeostats.
The
unbiased
approach
provided
strong
arguments
abundant
existence
