Abstract Background: Urate concentration and the physiological regulation of urate homeostasis exhibit clear sex differences. DNA methylation has been shown to explain a substantial proportion serum variance, mediate genetic effect on concentration, co-regulate with cardiometabolic traits. However, whether is associated in sex-dependent manner unknown. Additionally, it worth investigating if changes after perturbations, such as vaccination, are sex-specific manner. Methods: We investigated association between concentrations Dutch cohort 325 healthy individuals. were measured before Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) used perturbation increased gout flares.
