Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a relatively uncommon but high mortality form of stroke that can result in long-lasting disability. A better understanding key neuroinflammatory changes during the early phase (<72 hours) may provide potential avenues treatment. In an attempt to understand these changes, we recruited 7 aSAH patients for profiling longitudinal plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) proteins at up 72 hours post injury. We additionally compared this control obtained previously from healthy elderly volunteers. Using Alamar Biosciences NULISAseq platform, comprehensive picture peripheral central inflammatory after This study demonstrated very across 107 proteins, 22 which showed significant correlations between CSF. Of these, CXCL12, IL-15, SAA1 are detectably elevated <24 plasma, significantly correlated with CSF levels, altered as function progression over time phase. demonstrates feasibility measuring large number soon Despite small sample size limitations group, identified several reported "hits" offer prognostic utility and/or therapeutic patients: SAA1.
