Predicting properties of quantum systems by regression on a quantum computer

Quantum
computers
can
be
considered
as
a
natural
means
for
performing
machine
learning
tasks
inherently
quantum
labeled
data.
Many
techniques
have
been
developed
solving
classification
problems,
such
distinguishing
between
phases
of
matter
or
processes.
Similarly,
one
consider
more
general
problem
regression,
when
the
aim
is
to
predict
continuous
labels
quantifying
properties
states,
purity
entanglement.
In
this
work,
we
propose
method
predicting
properties.
The
based
on

parametrized
circuits,

seeks
find
an
observable
expectation
which
gives
prediction

with
low
variance.

numerically
test
our
approach
in

This
research
analyzes
the
adverse
impact
of
white
noise
on
collective
quantum
measurements
and
argues
that
such
poses
a
significant
obstacle
for
otherwise
straightforward
deployment
in
communications.

findings

issue
