Abstract Non-reciprocal interactions play a crucial role in many social and biological complex systems. While directionality has been thoroughly accounted for networks with pairwise interactions, its effects systems higher-order have not yet explored as deserved. Here, we introduce the concept of M -directed hypergraphs, general class directed structures, which allows to investigate dynamical coupled through group interactions. As an application study synchronization nonlinear oscillators on 1-directed finding that can destroy synchronization, but also stabilize otherwise unstable synchronized states.

Hypergraphs, encoding structured interactions among any number of system units, have recently proven a successful tool to describe many real-world biological and social networks. Here we propose framework based on statistical inference characterize the structural organization hypergraphs. The method allows infer missing hyperedges size in principled way, jointly detect overlapping communities presence higher-order interactions. Furthermore, our model has an efficient numerical implementation, it runs faster than dyadic algorithms pairwise records projected from data. We apply variety systems, showing strong performance hyperedge prediction tasks, detecting well aligned with information carried by interactions, robustness against addition noisy hyperedges. Our approach illustrates fundamental advantages hypergraph probabilistic when modeling relational systems

Recent developments in complex systems have witnessed that many real-world scenarios, successfully represented as networks, are not always restricted to binary interactions but often include higher-order among the nodes. These beyond pairwise preferably modeled by hypergraphs, where hyperedges represent between a set of In this work, we consider multiplex network intralayer connections called hypergraph. The hypergraph is constructed mapping maximal cliques scale-free suitable sizes. We investigate and interlayer synchronizations such structures. Our study unveils synchronization appreciably enhances when structure taken into consideration spite only connections. derive necessary condition for stable states master stability function approach, which perfectly agrees with numerical results. also explore robustness find structures many-body interaction, more persistent than networks solely interaction.
