Public libraries, archives, and museums have identifiable differences related to their founding missions play many roles in today’s cultural sector broader society, yet LAM institutions’ professional activities appear very similar. Moreover, increased digitization of collections allows for collaboration convergence across the institutions, merging L, A, M education at tertiary level nurtures a common knowledge base. How are professions developing relation each other; they growing together or apart? This paper analyzes questionnaire responses reflecting European professionals’ perceptions as professionals how this influences likelihood collaborate with others sector. Collaboration is prevalent between three types studied. Forty-six percent librarians confirm that archives and/or museums, 60% report collaborating libraries 73% museologists archives. perceive distinct closely tied core social mission. The Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 led to Europe’s largest displacement people since World War II, with significant substantial numbers Ukrainian refugees seeking shelter neighbouring countries. International research attests the crucial roles public libraries can play reception and integration refugees. However, diverse professional geographical contexts sociopolitical landscapes which work support refugee processes, necessitate ongoing renewed focus on topic. Therefore, this study examines how Hungary Poland responded influx refugees, investigating their roles, programmes partnerships. Using mixed methods, analyses previously unexamined 2018 questionnaire results conducts 12 subsequent interviews library staff. Findings reveal that addressed a spectrum user needs falling into three broad phases. Initially, they focussed primary during first phase, transitioning settlement-related second phase. Variances between emerged primarily serving transient those Hungarian backgrounds, while saw higher number background settling. In final emphasized literacy, cultural support, aligning reading collection-oriented services.
