Purpose Entrepreneurship is one of the pillars economic development and helps to green economy. This study investigates factors that affect entrepreneurship (GE) in small- medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) Saudi Arabia. Design/methodology/approach Using quantitative modes, this study's findings are based on 334 valid cases from Arabian SME employees. Findings path analysis, study’s reveal entrepreneurial skills (GES), opportunities (GOs), motivation (EM), incentives (GIs), availability capital (AoC) self-efficacy (GESE) have positive significant effects GE. Moreover, GESE mediates GE's relationships with GES, GOs, EM, GIs AoC. Practical implications support business practices terms planning, training skills. The research provides for businesses. This study conducts a comprehensive analysis of the literature on sustainable entrepreneurial orientation (SEO) to identify factors influencing its adoption by entrepreneurs and organisations. Given documented impact this capability components performance, aims contribute existing knowledge regarding antecedents. The review includes 23 papers published in Scopus Web Science indexed journals between 2017 2023. These studies provide an overview evolving understanding SEO from conceptualisation present. This study assessed the structural validity of an entrepreneurial competencies' measurement model among small business owners in Zamfara State, Nigeria. The initial exploratory factor analysis (EFA) identified three key dimensions—entrepreneurial skills, knowledge, and attitude—with a cumulative variance 66.40%, indicating robust representation underlying dimensions. However, subsequent CFA results present mixed result, with demonstrating significant fit issues (?² = 348.827, df 87, p < 0.001) suboptimal indices, including Comparative Fit Index (CFI) 0.607 Root Mean Square Error Approximation (RMSEA) 0.259. Despite these challenges, contributes to literature on locational evaluation competencies specific context also underscores need for further refinement exploration enhance accuracy tools assessing critical skills owners.
