Purpose
This
study
investigates
the
influences
of
socioeconomic,
familial
and
personal,
cultural,
organizational
technological
factors
on
succession
planning
within
family
businesses
(FBs).
It
aims
to
untangle
complex
web
these
weave
together,
shedding
light
their
collective
impact
seamless
leadership
transition
from
generation
generation.
Design/methodology/approach
The
theory
planned
behavior
(TPB)
systems
(ST)
were
utilized
in
this
study.
proposed
framework
is
supported
by
a
purposive
quantitative
design
388
FBs
Jordan.
collected
data
rigorously
assessed
using
partial
least
squares-structural
equation
modeling
importance-performance
map
analysis.
Findings
Our
results
have
shown
that
successor
characteristics,
such
as
age,
gender,
education
attitude
toward
takeover,
strongly
affect
effective
planning.
Other
major
include
strong
relationships,
size
business
modern
digital
integration.
However,
religious
belief
variable
did
not
seem
influence
conclude
savvy
online
community
mediating
support
smooth
transitions.
Practical
implications
Offering
treasure
trove
insights,
equips
FB
stakeholders
with
strategic
keys
unlock
potential
communal
resources
champions
dual
approach
venerates
age-old
values
while
embracing
paving
way
for
transitions
are
just
but
also
forward-thinking
resilient.
Originality/value
