Uncovering the influence of commitment to low-carbon operations management on manufacturing carbon performance DOI
Yunguang Long, Taiwen Feng

Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management, Journal Year: 2025, Volume and Issue: unknown

Published: Feb. 22, 2025

Purpose Based on social exchange and resource dependence theories, this research investigates how manufacturing firms’ commitment to low-carbon operations management (CLCOM) prompts carbon performance (MCP) through supply chain collaboration (SCC), as well the moderating role of risk (SCRM). Design/methodology/approach This study verifies hypotheses employing hierarchical regression analysis bootstrapping methods an online survey 297 Chinese manufacturers. Findings The results demonstrate that manufacturers’ SCC mediates influence affective continuance CLCOM MCP. SCRM dampens link between SCC. Further, heightens relationship CLCOM–low-carbon with suppliers, but does not enhance level customers. Originality/value contributes theory practice area by unveiling “black-box” CLCOM–MCP considers SCRM’s effect.

Against the backdrop of global economic changes and rapid technological innovation, sharing economy model is gradually transforming operational mechanisms traditional industries. However, some industries have experienced stagnation recession during this transition, leading to market development constraints. The necessity study lies in filling gap existing literature by conducting an in-depth analysis critical factors contributing industrial economy. This aims provide concrete countermeasures for businesses policymakers. novelty research integrating multiple key variables affecting development, including green production concepts, circular economy, large-scale production, high-quality product demand driven automation, smart production. By employing multi-criterion decision-making methods, we quantitatively assess impact these more accurately. employs Multi-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM) model, Trial Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) Analytic Network Process (ANP) form D&ANP analytical research. Highly automated are selected as subjects. DEMATEL technique used construct Influential Relationship Map (INRM), while ANP concept incorporated develop model. Through method, influential weights calculated combined with industry-specific assessments suitability potential causes (or attributes) determine average performance values each industry. These further compared benchmark distinguish ideal non-ideal conditions across facing recession. results indicate that different influenced varying factors, requiring strategic adjustments based on their unique environments. Accordingly, provides recommendations optimize business models resource allocation, mitigate risks recession, promote sustainable recovery. findings not only contribute empirical but also serve a reference businesses. offering insights, enterprises can better respond dynamics, enhance competitiveness, ensure long-term stable growth.

Published: Jan. 1, 2025

In the rapidly evolving landscape of decision‐making, particularly amid complexities managing extensive data, it is crucial to develop methodologies that facilitate informed choices. This paper presents a novel technique designed address multicriteria decision‐making (MCDM) challenges through opportunity losses‐based polar coordinate distance (OPLO‐POCOD) method. By integrating principle losses—a fundamental concept in economics and management—into evaluation process, this approach enhances framework, providing clearer understanding trade‐offs involved selecting alternatives. The innovative methodology applied assess sustainability impact Industry 4.0 technologies within Iran’s automotive industry, sector facing unique such as need for technological adaptation. Utilizing fuzzy OPLO‐POCOD method, study analyzes various sustainable performance indicators, ultimately identifying simulation, blockchain, radio frequency identification critical enablers development. These exhibit remarkably low loss scores 0.0212, 0.0232, 0.0270, respectively, underscoring their pivotal roles enhancing energy resource efficiency production activities. research provides significant insights industry stakeholders policymakers, emphasizing importance advanced solutions into development strategies. aligning advancements with objectives, not only illuminates transformative potential but also paves way future inquiries essential field, offering strategic roadmap promoting practices beyond.
