Objective We aimed to 1) identify distinct segments within the general population characterized by various combinations of stressors (stressor profiles) and 2) examine socio-demographic composition these their associations with perceived stress levels. Methods Segmentation was carried out latent class analysis nine self-reported in a representative sample Danish adults (N = 32,417) aged 16+ years. Perceived level measured Stress Scale (PSS). Results Seven classes were identified: Class 1 labeled Low Stressor Burden (64% population) remaining six classes, which had different stressor combinations, labeled: Burdened Financial, Work, Housing Stressors (10%); 3) Disease Death among Close Relatives (9%); 4) Poor Social Support Strained Relationships (8%); 5) Own (6%); 6) Complex Involving (2%); 7) (2%). Being female notably increased likelihood belonging Classes 2, 3, 5, 7. Higher age 3. educational attainment 5 6. A significant difference observed levels between seven classes. Average PSS varied from 9.0 24.2 7 25.0 Conclusion Latent allowed us combinations. Six elevated but differed terms socioeconomic These insights may inform strategy at improving mental health targeting efforts particular segments, experiencing challenging life situations.
