Purpose The study aims to explicate how Metaverse boosts learners’ cognition, decision confidence and active participation in Metaverse-based learning (MBL). Design/methodology/approach A survey is designed with 523 respondents. Structural equation modeling (SEM) conducted using online data verify a research model. Findings Results demonstrate that Metaverse-related characteristics, namely interactivity, corporeity, persistence, immersion personalized experience, aid strengthening cognitive processing confidence, whilst escapism does not influence MBL. Furthermore, user-related dimensions, including personal innovativeness perceived trendiness, are the underlying motivations for confidence. Additionally, positively associated which considerably fosters Originality/value Limited studies have been illuminate mechanism of processing, among learners toward MBL light Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) paradigm. Therefore, substantial amount knowledge supplemented enlighten whether developing country may generate their engagement

Purpose This study is a pilot exploring the usefulness and ease of use prototype VR PetCPR system discusses possibility using it to facilitate pet healthcare skills acquisition. The designed training aims provide professionals with an inexpensive, accessible reliable CPR tool refine their in controlled simulated environment. Design/methodology/approach was conducted one-day workshop. workshop consisted morning section (Section A) afternoon B). Section A knowledge acquisition stage. B Trainees were then given 30 min experience set. When trainees ready, they required complete two trials dog practice. After practice, completed questionnaire reported attitudes toward Findings Overall, held positive effectiveness PetCPR. practicing via CPR, over half responded that effective helping them understand essential (e.g. operation status, positions, etc.) performing on 30-pound dog. significantly attitude trainees’ perceptions chest compression outnumbered negative explicit instruction guidance, accessibility, convenience practice straightforward interface. Originality/value From data collected from 16 animal hospitals United States, Europe Australia 709 cases, 147 dogs (28%) 58 cats (30%) temporarily attained ROSC during 14 (3%) four (2%) survived hospital discharge. Training veterinary techniques implementing RECOVER guidelines still have long way go. However, recent virtual reality simulations for mainly human patients (Issleib et al ., 2021; Liu 2022; Almousa 2019; Wong 2018). remains missing puzzle current designs.
