Purpose Many family-owned small businesses (F-OSBs) struggled to digitalize their operations and achieve digital innovation performance during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading significant hardships setbacks. In this paper, we investigate how an agile mindset in descendant entrepreneurs promotes F-OSBs through mediating role of creative centrality fintech usage. We also examine financial literacy moderates link between innovative behaviors usage; “not-invented-here” syndrome (NIHS) association usage, ultimately impacting F-OSBs. Design/methodology/approach Primary data from 226 predecessors were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings The findings revealed that usage mediate relationship Financial does not moderate but presence NIHS predecessor entrepreneur behavior (fintech centrality) performance. Research limitations/implications This study has several limitations provide opportunities for future research. First, used cross-sectional data, which limits ability establish causal relationships variables. Second, use PLS-SEM may introduce issues such as random sampling errors, model specification other statistical limitations. Third, although took proactive initiatives tackle subjective biases scales, research should employ scales lean more towards objective evaluation measurement. Fourth, focused on retail industry, hence could explore applicability these industries or types business. Practical implications Overall, practical highlight importance fostering mindset, promoting literacy, addressing obstacles caused by NIHS, encouraging alongside technologies Implementing suggestions lead improved Social examines moderating entrepreneurs’ interaction provides a nuanced understanding factors work together stimulate maximize impact Originality/value Based knowledge-based view theory, takes novel approach investigating mindsets, performance, boundary conditions NIHS.

Purpose This research explores the skills, attitudes and knowledge of micro small businesses in peripheral high growth region Moreton Bay southeast Queensland that would enable these to adopt use new business technology. Design/methodology/approach Sixteen in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with participants recruited via snowball sampling utilised conjunction government’s Digital Scorecard survey data. The analysed using thematic analysis, NVivo 12 a phenomenographic approach. Findings All owners understood value technology expressed positive attitude towards its uptake but felt constrained by lack knowledge, time resources. Thus, they require targeted local guidance tools minimize demands on their implementation, which has implications for policymakers, governments educators. Originality/value Past studies adopting have either looked at large regions or specific types leaving technological gaps unexamined. aims fill gap studying region, Bay, edge greater Brisbane city area. We recommend phased approach developing digital appropriate support programs each stage.

The concept of Enterprise Digital Transformation (EDT) is increasingly capturing the attention both academic and business communities. Through a critical examination burgeoning body literature on EDT, this paper aims to unearth delineate future research avenues for advancement understanding in domain. Utilizing organizational social theories as lenses, we systematically categorize dissect extant pertaining digital transformation process. This approach enables us comprehensively understand current landscape EDT research, thereby uncovering potential opportunities directions. Following contextual discussion transformation, methodically review recent from theoretical standpoint. Our analysis particularly focuses state regarding drivers specific practices employed by enterprises during such transformations, subsequent performance outcomes initiatives. Within framework, also spotlight pertinent questions related that merit further exploration. Furthermore, illuminate additional frameworks hold promise inquiries into thus offering succinct summary our review.

Purpose The goal of this research is to examine the influence digital leadership (DL) on adaptive capacity (ADC) small- and medium-sized family businesses (SMFBs). Moreover, study investigates mediating microfoundations dynamic capabilities represented by sensing capability (SC) organizational agility (OA), both parallelly sequentially. Design/methodology/approach Drawing view (DCV) supporting empirical evidence, a conceptual framework developed along with set hypotheses. Using survey data collected from 263 SMFBs in Oman, hypotheses are tested using structural equation modeling through partial least square-structural (PLS-SEM). Findings analysis reveals that DL positively influences ADC, SC OA. Additionally, OA mediate link between ADC. Finally, act as sequential mediators relationship ADC among SMFBs. Practical implications For practitioners, critical role strengthening Family business leaders may consider evidence invest development programs enhance competencies, enabling better agility. Policymakers can offer training resources, helping build essential for thriving competitive evolving environment. Originality/value This makes four key contributions. First, expands literature at crossroads business, digitalization, resilience, investigate Second, mediator above relationship, current study, seems be overlooked literature. Third, findings demonstrate appears first presents adding finer-grained understanding how transmitted
