In this article, we examine current and future challenges of the teaching profession by reimagining teacher education using Portugal USA (i.e. Texas) as examples. Our comparative analyses in area began 2016 when discovered our common research interests relevance these topics for contexts. paper, particularly focus on related to i) shortage, ii) nature teachers' work, iii) approaches aftermath COVID-19 pandemic. We argue that times crisis may present opportunities enhance profession, recognise its increasingly complex dynamic nature, produce solid, multifaceted knowledge social educational significance future.
