Purpose Blockchain-based traceability labels is increasingly adopted in supply chain, yet there little empirical research to examine effectiveness from consumer perspective. Can blockchain technology motivate consumers purchase sustainable products? Drawing on signaling theory, this paper answers question by comparing the effect of blockchain-based with certification-based intention products. We further investigate consumers’ perception sustainability level as a mediating variable and social enterprise boundary condition. Design/methodology/approach This study uses three online between-subject experiments total 750 participants. The proposed hypotheses are tested using analysis covariance (ANCOVA) well mediation based PROCESS macro. Findings results suggest that (1) lead greater products than labels; (2) such positive occurs perceive higher level; (3) however, attenuated when company enterprise. ABSTRACT Modern slavery is increasingly recognized as a supply chain risk to both workers and firms. Neither corporate efforts nor market‐based regulation has adequately addressed the issue. This largely because they fail reconcile conflicting priorities between efficiency anti‐slavery goals inherent in such efforts. Public sector purchasing—often conducted through meta‐organizations—offers scale scope needed change behaviors. Yet meta‐organizations how effect remain underexplored under‐theorized. Through analysis of archival material 44 interviews with public buyers purchasing consortia managers, we construct two case studies meta‐organizations. To understand the slow adoption of blockchain technology by organisations, we conduct a systematic literature review factors using mixed-methods approach. Using thematic analysis, 880 are identified and grouped into 29 themes, which offer comprehensive overview literature. statistical dissected technological (T), organisational (O), environmental (E) dimensions (the TOE framework). Themes further classified as barriers (B), enablers (En), ambiguous (A) to describe firm's readiness for BEnA We emphasise multidimensionality across conditionality dimensions. Analysis research trends shows that recent has focused on elaborating upon existing themes (involution) rather than developing new (evolution). Based our analyses, propose future directions, including scrutinising interdependence factors, examining with conditional or unclear effects adoption, broadening contextual, temporal, theoretical aspects research.

Governments across the world are increasingly seeking to ensure that products consumed in their countries meet certain sustainability standards. However, places of production—where major impacts occur—are often distant from consumption. Physical trade models suited estimate link between consumption and production for individual commodities, but ignore derived products, obtained by processing primary especially non-food products. Derived which manufactured using multiple such as shoes containing leather, rubber, well other textile materials, pose a special challenge these models. This can lead biased assessments risks obscure leverage points address them. To mitigate risk bias, here we present an approach assessing importance accounting when attributing impacts.
