Peak reduction is an important concern that can help reduce the growing stress on distribution grids and allow to defer investments in new capacity. Water heaters represent a convenient way of reducing peak, depending controllability devices. But while controlling water does shift it also results rebound effects, which require additional understanding before heater fleets be used large scale. We attempt investigate nature peak behaviors demonstrate are not homogenous their behavior. Depending overall intensity use water, part population has higher effect, little or no effect. Even though we do have sufficient data statistically evaluate our findings, sample 42 connected neighborhood provide early at discovering reporting this diversity.
