This study examines the relationship between CEO career variety, digital knowledge base extension, and transformation in a M&A context. An empirical test was conducted using regression analysis with events of new generation information technology firms China as research sample. The results reveal that variety has positive effect on context knowledge-base extension plays mediating role.
